Cambridge Education Foundation
Cambridge Education Foundation has been working with a university in Mexico in order to develop a course for Mexican teachers involved in school partnerships.
The course, written specifically for them by the Unversidad Iberoamericana, has just been completed and their tutor, Professor Jorge Martínez describes it below.

Workshop in Inter-cultural Education 12 January – 26 April 2008
Univesidad Iberoamericana CM
Direccíon de Educacíon Continua
Ibero Online
The workshop’s main objectives were to help teachers reflect upon their daily practice from the point of view of interculturality, especially referring to their participation in the DFID Global School Partnerships program, and to design an educational intervention along those lines.
Weekly, teachers commented upon a reading on the subject, and wrote an essay relating it to their school practice. Afterwards, each participant made a critical positive comment on the essay of a classmate. Of course, the tutor commented upon everything.
At the end of the workshop, the teachers handed in the proposal of an intervention.
The workshop was partially online. This solved problems with distance and traffic and different schedules, but it was a totally new experience for all teachers. The effort was not only academic but a true test for the strength of their will. Unlike many online courses, all participants finished successfully. As a matter of fact, they all surpassed the tutor’s expectations.
