Special educational needs
Providing for Special Educational Needs (SEN) can be one of the biggest challenges a Local Authority faces. The strict requirements of legislation... the rising expectations of the government... the changing needs of children and parents... all make managing SEN a fine balancing act.
Support services
We support Local Authorities with a range of services to help them respond to the constantly evolving requirements of children with Special Educational Needs. Our services include advising special schools and Local Authorities on SEN issues (which includes promoting inclusion in mainstream schools); monitoring the effectiveness of SEN in both special and mainstream schools and helping different agencies work together. We can support the Education Psychology Service at times of high demand.
