Home-to-school transport
Many Local Authorities, even those with budget difficulties, still provide home-to-school transport services well beyond their statutory obligations.
Most are under pressure in this area, with expectations of Gershon savings and the continuing need to demonstrate Best Value.
In our experience, there may well be areas of improvement that could free up resources for use elsewhere in the education service without disrupting the safe efficient home-to-school and curricular transport for mainstream and special needs pupils.

We can:
- advise on home-to-school transport strategy;
- carry out critical reviews of current policies and practices;
- show how efficiency savings can be made;
- review charging and access policies;
- assist Local Authorities and schools in developing new transport policies and practices;
- review the use and deployment of escorts;
- provide procurement and logistical support;
- advise on ‘green’ issues.
