South Africa: Khanyisa Education Support Programme
Cambridge Education is working with a South African partner to enable Limpopo Province to deliver education improvement.
Project duration: 2003 to 2008
Cambridge Education is working in partnership with JET Education Services of South Africa and UK ’s Department for International Development to support LPDE to deliver its strategic plan for improving education services.
The Khanyisa Education Support Programme has worked in consultation with stakeholders to improve curriculum delivery and academic management, and has helped to implement the policies and strategies which the central and provincial governments have adopted.
The Cambridge Education/JET partnership has utilised a whole school development model, galvanised the education system and worked with local authorities, government and NGOs to ensure local ownership and sustainability of the programme. The project has placed particular emphasis on adult basic education, further education and training, and to the social dimensions of the education system.
