Cambridge Education Secures Abu Dhabi Contract

Cambridge Education has been appointed by the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) to undertake a substantial contract to inspect its private schools, both local and international schools.

CE will work with ADEC to determine the inspection framework and conduct inspections from January 2012. Subject to renewal, the contract could continue in subsequent years up to 2014. The contract will be worth £1.9m initially, but could achieve up to £9m over the whole period.

Linked to inspections, there will also be possibilities for CE to become involved in school improvement work in the region and in helping to set up an accreditation scheme for schools.

Project Director Brian Oppenheim commented: “This has been a long and detailed process, so we are delighted to have been awarded this contract. Our work will draw on the whole range of Cambridge Education’s experience in school improvement and starts very soon, but we’re looking forward to making an impact on the quality of teaching and learning in Abu Dhabi.”
